About

Artists Statement

Art means to me not being satisfied with warmth, shelter and food. It means yearning to appreciate, and be part of, that which lifts our spirits and challenges us to show others experiences in this world that can lift imagination, expectations and dreams to places that seem impossible, yet are wholly feasible. It is letting our souls shine bright as sunshine and our spirits soar with the eagles.

Having a brain injury has made me a better artist. This can be evidenced by the difference in creative output. I'm less meticulous now about trying to get everything perfect. It's more important to enjoy the process and still feel that the resulting work expresses its meaning, it also has more of me. This is kind of strange, but although I'd shout a loud "yes please" if offered a good brain I'm trying to gain the most from this rare condition.

What is the role of God and creativity in my life? It is to bring into being art that endeavours to add to this world. To use time, skills, materials and then change them in such a manner as to give back to the world something greater than I have taken from it. To share with others my joy and love of God and of being, yet also the anguish found in this physical universe.

I welcome and will be most grateful for your generous donations.
