Works on canvas – these precede the paper works and use brushes and acrylic paint - in some works straight from the tube - to make words, lines and washes.
I gradually moved on to different use of colour and mark making, adding floating or crackle mediums.
At this point I realised that I could get the same result on paper without needing to use medium and so I just let the work become even more spontaneous.

Washes are
used to partially cover up - to whitewash - what was beneath.

There is
humour in this work with the green line going for a stroll around the painting,
a light-hearted reflection of where I was going at the time.
