Good day to you. It is now quiet here. Outside there is noise. A plane can be heard overhead. Two clocks can be heard ticking inside this room. Here though now all is quiet. The peace is not to be found in worldly things. Yet it is only through the world (or word!) that we will find the peace.
Many do not even notice the noise in their minds. They mask it with music, or conversation so as to avoid listening to that which has accumulated over the years. One of the best ways I have found apart from meditation and prayer is art.
For some, who are blessed with the gift of music, they can lose their self in their playing. The ego will disappear as melody becomes real to them.
Here I will share painting which for me today has done the job of quieting the babble of the mind.
But first a picture of a colourful treat I made for my son.
Todays picture above is as yet untitled.
These two are variations on a theme.
I bid you all a good day my brothers and sisters and a good week.
Know that you are loved. Peter.

Blue cow in abstract.
Thank goodness I painted this painting yesterday to share with you, as I dont know if there is enough energy in my old noggin to write a decent blog.
There was a phrase I awoke with in my mind this morning and I thought about it. Now unfortunately I cannot recall it right at this moment. But the point is that I believed it was commonly assumed to be a Christian saying. Yet when I had meditated on the meaning It didn't seem to me to follow Christian doctrine.
So although now all these hours have past - eight or nine - I cannot recall the actual saying, I did put it into a search engine and it was not a Christian saying, but to do with ancient Greece!
And just as what may be the most miss-quoted biblical line, `money is the root of all evil.` which is different to, `The love of money is the root of all evil.` We will always do well to contemplate some of that which we are told is good wisdom, or in this world, sound politics!
Anyway, if the saying pops into my mind, then I can always update this blog. If I go off in a few minutes to lay down on my bed and rest, then it may come back. Of course, after all this it may not be as interesting as I thought it was!
So my brothers and sisters, these are the photos of the painting I did yesterday. I pray that this is a good day for you and that we all realize who much we are loved.
Your bro, in Christ and of Xun Zi
Human nature is evil and goodness is caused by intentional activity.
In order to properly understand the big picture, everyone should fear becoming mentally clouded and obsessed with one small section of truth.
The rigid cause themselves to be broken; the pliable cause themselves to be bound.
Music is a fantastic peacekeeper of the world, it is integral to harmony and it is a required fundamental of human emotion.
I shall leave you now as my son lays back on the couch. He is listening to music from this computer. Isnt it good that at the same time I am doing my blog, he can listen to the radio online. ttfn Peter Kimble, the nimble.

Fish of Friday
Good day and love to you all and all you do.
I know it is fish on Friday and I do have a piece of writing which I will share with you, from St Gregory of Nazianzus. Gregory of Nazianzus was a 4th Century Archbishop of Constantinople. He is widely considered the most accomplished rhetorical stylist of the patristic age. (I though have no idea what the patristic age is, but nevertheless find wisdom in his writing.)
First though. I do as an artist whom on this sunny morning have to tell you that I am glad to be able to share a painting, which last night I had to get out of bed to paint for us. I had the idea whilst laying in bed and knew that just popping it in writing on paper would not be enough.
I would believe it amiss of me to risk the possibility of forgetting to post it on the blog. Not that is is great, nor is it insignificant. It is just what it is what is is, or can become for us!
Other people or even ourselves will create mental boxes to try and put all that they perceive inside, in the attempt to create order and understanding in both their lives and their minds. They or even we, can at times see an inside and an outside. When the Berlin wall was broken down, it was not just the start of a sea change in human understanding, but of consciousness also. Well, thats my two pennyworth, for you to ponder or discard as you will.
How can I mind what people think, when I know from experience that we some of us, through getting immersed in dark thoughts and feelings, can stand apart from this state and know we need to change.
Having changed we do not feel jealous of those whose lives have always been well ordered, gentle and kind. That, if they have done their best is what is best for us all. As I emerge as it seems I am doing from some past dark and oft violent times, then this will be the best for us all!
"God", I may say, why dont you let me go back to the Philippines spiritually renewed as I am, to help the street children know Your love. To feed them and illuminate them in the light of Jesus Christ.
He, replies; " I cannot be God and let you go off half-cocked and unprepared. Now you have given up on self, you must be patient and listen to my words and also listen to the silence. For all else will cloud your mind and distract you from the right path, my son." So my brothers and sisters, I feel I have no alternative. Let go and let God is how the saying goes.
Microcosm and mediator
Wishing to form a single creature from the two levels of creation - from both invisible and visible nature - the Creator Logos fashioned man. Taking a body from the matter which he had previously created, and placing in it the breath of life that comes from himself, which Scripture terms the intelligent soul and the image of God (cf. Gen. 1.27; 2.7), he formed man as a second universe, great in his littleness. He set him on earth as a new kind of angel, adoring God with both aspects of his twofold being, overseer of the material creation and initiate into the spiritual creation; king of all upon earth, but subject to the King above; earthly yet heavenly; temporal yet immortal; visible yet spiritual; midway between majesty and lowliness; a single person, yet both spirit and flesh - spirit by grace, flesh because of his pride; spirit, that he may continue in existence and glorify his benefactor; flesh, that he may suffer, and through suffering may be reminded and chastened when he grows conceited because of his greatness; a living creature guided in this world by God`s providence, and then translate to another realm; and, as the culmination of the mystery, deified through his obedience to God. So God in his splendour has bound together soul and body; and, though he separates them at death, he will hereafter bind them together again in a yet more exalted way.
ST GREGORY OF NAZIANZUS
This is all for today my brothers and sisters. I pray that that this day every moment we can be able, then we shall know that we are loved, we can be love and be loving in all our encounters.
Hey, take care out there. Your brother Peter.

Thursday 4th Oct 2012
Good day to you and blessings and love to you.
First of all I had to say a little prayer. Not that God needs our prayers although of course He is always waiting for us to communicate with Him. Wanting us to share with Him our joys and concerns. It isn't that He doesnt know them, but he wants us to know them, as we can often be the last to uncover what is really troubling us. Talking something out with another there to listen is often the way to un-jumble a knotty problem. Sometimes talking to another person, no matter how well intentioned, may not quite get to grips with the problem. They may interrupt you when you are just getting to something and although their interjection was well thought out, it had no relevance and only made you lose your train of thought.
With God, we can be still and sit back together to look at the problem. Might be that the best plan of action is to wait and see what happens.
Now for some photos of the painting which came about yesterday. Oh and I did like to experiment with the mirror effect on this one!
Here is a bonus painting. What I like
about this one is the calmness, almost
like a comfortable dream.
W.H.VANSTONE.
This makes me think of when the chicken and the pig where told that they were going to provide the breakfast. The pig said to the chicken, `I dont think that you understand. This requires a whole different level of commitment from me.
So my brothers and sisters, lets go out today and give it our all and be the best we can. No more and no less.
Your bro Peter.

Divine self-giving
The image of the creation suggested by popular devotion is an image of serene and effortless activity - the activity, one might say, `of the left hand of God`. `He spake the word and they were made: He commanded and they were created.` `By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, and all the hosts of them by the breath of His mouth.` Whatever nay have been the original intention of such words, they convey an impression of easy control and limited endeavour, of resources held in reserve and power unused. The is nothin of the giving of self, and therefore nothing of the authenticity of love, in activity so light and easy.
If the work of God in creation is the work of love, then truth demands an imagery which will do justice to the limitless self-giving which is among the marks of authentic love: and the imagery which the head demands may have a new power of appeal to the moral sensitivity of the heart.
As a parenthesis, we may illustrate the kind of imagery which might express the self-giving of God in creation. A doctor tell s of an operation which, as a young student, he observed in a London hospital. `It was the first time that this particular brain operation had been carried out in this country. It was performed by one of our leading surgeons upon a young man of great promise for whom, after an accident, there seemed to be no other remedy. It was an operation of the greatest delicacy, in which a small error would have had fatal consequences. In the outcome the operation was a triumph: but it involved seven hours of intense and uninterrupted concentration on the part of the surgeon. When it was over, a nurse had to take him by the hand, and lead him from the operating theatre like a blind man or a little child.` This, one might say, is what self-giving is like: such is the likeness of God, wholly given, spent and drained in that sublime self-giving which is the ground and source and origin of the universe.W.H.VANSTONE.
This makes me think of when the chicken and the pig where told that they were going to provide the breakfast. The pig said to the chicken, `I dont think that you understand. This requires a whole different level of commitment from me.

Manners maketh man. Good or Bad!
Welcome. You are wonderful and you are loved!
First this morning my brothers and sisters, for you, a photo of yesterdays painting. Which firstly was painted for you(God of course is included when I write You.) and apart from me of course, you are the first to see.
Not hiding but playing with the shadows.
It all boils down to love without end.
For those of you who understand the board game monopoly then it wont be hard to get what I am saying. Others of you can look it up on the Internet, or just try to make out what I am saying. I grew up with four brothers and three sisters, but it was mainly just us four boys who would play. We would play to win. In this last year or two my sons have taken to occasionally playing the game. Their gran likes to play strictly by the rules and we respect that, as this is the way she was brought up. Now, one thing for sure in the rules is that if another player lands on your square and you don't notice, then the next player throws. It is too late to then claim rent. Now my boys - and I am sure that they only get this in part from me and mostly is there own look on things - will not only purposefully not notice if another player who has a lot less than them lands on their property.
If they land on someones property and that person is losing, the rent say coming to £32 they will give a £50 and say, "Keep the change."
In the `real` world whenever I see them doing good and wanting to help others, I think `Good job, keep the change.` Meaning also the change from not having to be like all around them, especially when some are losing their heads trying to get ahead. Oh yes they also have fun in trying to be well mannered. This is another thing which they have to teach me on those rare occasions that I lose it with other drivers.
The precept of courtesy
Finally be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous (1 Peter 3.8)
No people can be great who have ceased to be virtuous.
Samual Johnson, on the behaviour of British Colonists in America.
For courteous some substitute the word humble; the difference may not be considered as great, for pride is a quality that obstruct courtesy.
That precept of courtesy is by no means unworthy of the gravity and dignity of an apolitical mandate, may be gathered from the pernicious effects which all must have observed to have arisen from harsh strictness and sour virtue: such as refuses to mingle in harmless gaiety, or give countenance to innocent amusements, or which transacts the petty business of the day with a gloomy ferociousness that clouds existence. Goodness of this character, is more formidable than lovely; it may drive away vice from its presence, but will never persuade it to stay to be amended; it may teach, it may remonstrate, but the hearer will seek for more mild instruction. To those, therefore, by whose conversation the heathens were to be drawn away from error and wickedness; it is the Apostle`s precept, that they be courteous, that they accommodate themselves, as far as innocence allows, to the will of others; that they should practice all the established modes of civility, seize all occasions of cultivating kindness, and live with the rest of the world in an amicable reciprocation of cursory civility, that Christianity might not be accused of making men less chearful as companions, less sociable as neighbours, or less useful as friends.
SAMUEL JOHNSON
I believe the above is a great bit of writing and one could believe it written by someone contemporary and not born over three hundred years ago and whom was shocked by the behaviour of the early American colonists.
This is all I have to share with you for today, except of course Know that you are loved so much and pass it on.
You are wonderful.

Tuesday eve and sorry to those who missed earlier blog
Good evening and Yep I accidentally wiped away this mornings blog.
Before I forget, if you want to see one of the things
me and one of my sons done yesterday, then look up on YOU TUBE little boy getting hit with his homemade club 002. He has to balance being an alter boy in the church on a Sunday morning with getting hit with a club in the afternoon. This was his idea.
Man`s purpose is to be happy.
Kahil Gibran, a poet, artist and writer, was born in Lebanon but spent most of his life in America. He is the third best selling poet in history, after Shakespeare and Lao Tse.
Vain are the beliefs and teachings that make man miserable, and false is the goodness that leads him into sorrow and despair for it is man`s purpose to be happy on this earth and lead the way to felicity and preach the gospel wherever he goes. He who does not see the kingdom of heaven in this life will never see it in the coming life. We came not into this life by exile, but we came as innocent creatures of God, to learn how to worship the holy and eternal Spirit and seek the hidden secrets within ourselves from the beauty of life. This is the truth which I have learned from the teachings of the Nazarene. (Jesus Christ)
Kahlil Gibran (1883-1931)
This my brothers and sisters, this very quick blog is for you that didnt see the fuller one which I accidentally wiped off. My apology

Monday: If we can make it on Monday we can make it anyday.
So what. Get up and get going.
Good day folks, now I should like to say concerning the title that my son has just chirped in his two pennyworth. `What about Judgement day.`
So I am just going to leave that to one side and get on with this artists phenomenological blog.
My latest painting
to share with
YOU
Sometimes its up to the viewer which way is the best way up to view one of
my paintings. Also I myself with some works prefer more that one view and so
when having one like this framed had better have it done so it can be hung any
way round.
This is a silly self portrait of me, just to
say in this I look ridiculous.
I accidentally or
sometimes on
Purpose
AM
The
world has
enough serious people
who have political and military
Power and who do so much serious damage!
Lets not be too serious!
Freedom, in part is freedom from what people will say to you having a negative effect. If someone says something critical, with the purpose of hurting you, or just from ignorance; then the best thing to so do is feel sorry for them. You could say, `I am sorry for you saying that and hope you can feel more positive soon.`
The worst thing is to feel hurt yourself, or to get angry and respond with something like, "Thats shit and all you ever say is shit, because you are so full of shit, you shithead." This shows you that your ego is so real you feel totally separate from not only them, but are far removed from any concept that you may have of God!
My son is so eager to get back on the computer and me, going with the flow will acquiesce.
So, until I blog again, may love and peace come upon you and pass on to others.
Your brother Peter.
