Exploring Spiritual Companionships

If you have been following my blogs, then you will know that I am trying to let go of control, needs and desires. the following, by Caroline Myss, is helpful to me and so I am sharing it in hope that it may be to you!

THE FIRST ROOM
 Loneliness
Being alone and isolated is a core human fear that can be so overwhelming that it controls your life choices. We fear that we will be alone if we follow spiritual guidance, like medieval hermits and other renunciates. While this outcome is unlikely, if you do not follow the guidance you receive, you will end up lonely, because, even if you surround yourself with people you love, your soul will be empty. Soul loneliness can also stem from the fear that when you encounter God or discover your most authentic feelings, you will no longer be able to relate to your life. Often, you are not as frightened of God as you are frightened about coming closer to owning deeper truths about yourself.
Most traditional mystics were alone for only brief periods of time, and you think you fear this archetypal aloneness, but in truth you the journey into your self, which only you can do.

Soul  Work: What causes you to feel lonely-even among friends and family? How does the fear of loneliness control you and your life choices. Have you compromised a soul calling because you feared that it would isolate you?  How many times have you not followed divine guidance? Can you see yourself able to respond to that calling now? Practice discovering how the fear of loneliness distracts you from surrendering to God. Record in your journal how much this fear causes you to negotiate away your inner guidance. Pray for guidance, listen, and respond. Return to this room often to work on these insights. Be compassionate with yourself. This is a very difficult room.

Absence of attachment to sense-objects is liberation; desire for sense-objects is bondage. Understand this fact, and then do as you please.   ASHTAVAKRA GITA

Have a good day my brothers and sisters. We are one and are loved and are Love. Spread it thick. Fling it out in all directions. Cover any anger or hurt with it. Bless everything lovingly. Toodle pip, your Bro Peter
