Tues 25th Sept 2012 St Sergius of Radonezh + my painting.

Good day and greetings and love to you all.

Good day to you my brothers and sisters. May blessings, peace and love be with you and work through you into the communities.

The sun is shining this morning and as its just gone 8am, its not a bright dazzling light, but a gentle warm ray, which is contributing to my decision this day not to think much, but to just be aware of every moment. Let distractions drift away unconsidered. Its wonderful; if you look back up at what I wrote just above the photo of me with the sun and some shadow on me, and can take in the line; `Good day and greetings and love to you all.` Although, yes, it is a wish from me to you all, but more importantly its the nature of this universe for us to reap what we sow. For those of you that believe in an eternal creative force of Love as I do, then we must be on constant guard against the enemy, which wishes to separate us from each other and the communion of the love of God. This is partly why I am sharing today's saints day. So -  and I am not saying that there are- if their are any visitors to the blog who because of past historical conflict between countries, have prejudicial thoughts against Russia, then put them to one side and realise that in Christ we can all be brothers and sisters. American and  Russian. Indian and Filipino. Lesbian and Gay. The enemy is not flesh and blood, but principalities of evil.
This said lets think about what we know from what I gathered about the Saint for today. About the man we know from this writing nothing of his personal history. The most valuable thing we can gather about him is that he was filled with the Holy Spirit.
This remind`s me of the story in the Bible of the man who came across a great treasure whilst digging in a field and went of to sell all he had to buy this field and posses the treasure.
The treasure is the Love of God that passes all understanding. With this, of which there can be no greater love, what should we want of any things of this world.
If we say we are Christian, then we are followers of our Lord Jesus, who was born a Jew, and yet was the Word who existed before the creation of this planet and its countries. Lets cast off the old false clothes, which we mark ourselves as being different from those across the river, or across the ocean. Put on if not material clothes of white, then spiritual clothes of white, which cannot be blemished and stained by dirt, nor blood, nor sin.

September 25th is the day of ST SERGIUS OF RADONEZH

The greatest national saint of Russia, he retired in youth to live as
a hermit in the forest; but disciples gathered round him, and even-
tually he founded a monastery dedicated to the Holy Trinity,
which within his own lifetime became the chief religious house in
Muscovy. He encouraged his countrymen in their efforts to drive
back the Tartars. The following story, recounted by his disciple
Epiphanius, indicates the central place of the Eucharist in the
  saint`s spiritual experience.

One day St Sergius was celebrating the divine liturgy, assisted by Simon, one of his disciples; and this Simon beheld a wonderful vision. While the saint was singing the liturgy, Simon saw a flame hovering over the holy table, surrounding and illuminating it. As the saint was about to receive communion, the divine fire coiled itself together and entered the sacred chalice; and thus the saint received communion. On witnessing this, Simon trembled with fear. The saint, when he moved away from the altar, realised that Simon had been allowed to see this miraculous vision; and, calling him, he said: `My son, why are you frightened?` And Simon answered: `My Lord, I have seen a miraculous vision; I have seen the grace of the Holy Spirit co-operating with you.` Then the saint forbade him to speak of it: `Tell no one of this that you have seen, until the Lord calls me away from this life.`

Now for a shot of today's painting

I really like this shot.
The light colours and general feeling of the start of movement and exploration. This is peaceful to me!

Love and peace to you and all beings.

                     Please pass this on.

                     Your brother Peter.
