Fish on Friday

Good day my brothers and sisters.
Peace and love to you and all beings.

The first layer of a painting started yesterday. Usually I first put a lot of
different colours on and move them about. This time I thought I would
let one colour dry first.

Below painting yesterday that is finished although not dry.

There is so much going on in this. Its as if an abstract painting is wanting to release people
and creatures to populate this work of art.

This is a bright cheery picture using the mirror image on the camera.

This was taken in sparkle mode.

FISH ON FRIDAY
I am enjoying reading `going home` Bringing Christ and the Buddha together in daily life. By Thich Nhat Hanh. (This brother is a Buddhist, by the way.)
I recommend this book to all on a spiritual path

Thich Nhat Hanh is a holy man, for he is humble and devout... His ideas for peace, if applied, would build a monument to ecumenism, to world brotherhood, to humanity. - Martin Luther King

That Martin Luther King sounds like he is a fellow in favour of peace. I wonder what happened to him!

`Jesus and the Buddha are not merely concepts, they are around us, alive. You can touch them in your daily life.`

The following, on page 102 bought tears to my eye; although they didn't actually come out.

CULTIVATING THE HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus Christ practised the cultivation of the Holy Spirit. Confirmation, the practice of the Sacrament called the Eucharist, all of these are aiming at cultivating the Holy Spirit in you. In a Buddhist temple, every time we hear the bell, there is another chance for Confirmation, for touching, tor reviving, for being born again. And that is why at Plum Village we use not only the bell, but we also use the ringing telephone and the chiming clock. The clock offers music every fifteen minutes, and we receive the Holy Spirit. We touch the Holy Spirit, the mindfulness in us. The sight of a brother wolking, a sister smiling, is also an opportunity for us to be reborn again. It is possible to remain mindful most of our daily life. That is the best way to cultivate the Holy Spirit in us.

End of the first paragraph of this chapter.
Got to go and take mum shopping.

Have a good weekend and know that you are loved.
Brother Peter.
