Fish on Friday

Good day my brothers and sisters. Welcome to all those also who have yet to attain the understanding that we are all parts linked in the mystical universal body which is not limited to the physical dimensions of space and time.

I will be leaving soon this morning, to attend my private art session with Kate Rothwell, the excelent forensic art therapist. Before I do, I shall share some photos which I took around 9pm last night, of the painting done a short time before that.

It is as if some of the colour has been crossed out using
masking tape. It was taken away. Yet I hope it will
come back in another work. As a Christian there are
three things my Master said for me to hold dear to.
Faith, hope and charity. Charity in this context is more
than the putting of coins in a box for orphans or the
red cross. It is selfless love such as Jesus gave on the
wooden cross and the lives lived by all the saints!
We do not have to be martyrs to be saints, but we
do have to deny ourselves, our egos. In saying, `I no
longer live, yet Christ lives in me`, is the start and when
we carry this on we will, my brothers and sisters be the
light which will dispel all darkness!

So, yep, two paintings, which I am content with.
Sometimes we can settle with that. Enough is,
good enough today! No more and no less.

You can see below the painting which I didnt
think was finished. It is now!

                   Friday 25 January
                                           Psalm 51:15-17
                            Strength to be humble
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare your praise. For
you have no delight in sacrifice; if I were to give a burnt offering,
broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not
  despise.
                                    Prayer
Jesus, you came with all humility to be with us, and to walk with us.
Yet not as a president, or ruler, lording it over us. You came as one of us who knows both loss of loved ones, but also so as to triumph over death. Give us looking at this blog now, we pray, strength to follow your way of humility. To love one another with your grace, so as to both give and receive your love.

This fish on Friday portion comes to you from the words of Father Gilbert Shaw.

                   "You must  perpetually be aware
of the purring of your spiritual cat!"

We are vessels of clay charged with the Light of heaven: the light of Life.

This life is vitally important for it is here we grow; here the vessel is made.
later it may be cleansed but it will never grow any bigger.

And God loves to have big pots to pour His love into!
                                                 ...............................

There are two `selves`. The old must be controlled, but the new must not be `pushed` or the
wrong thing will get in.

Our redemption is always an undoing - a turning of Adam inside-out. It is like the unravelling of a fishing-line, every bit of which has to be pulled through. It becomes more and more tiring as you reach the end.

                                                .............................

The Christian life must be faced in reality. Like an old garment it must be unwoven and made up again.

The whole way ther will be the need for `conversion`, which is turning to God, and `penitence` which is coming back to Him.
                                                        ---------------
We need  to live disciplined lives in an undisciplined world. Our worst master is `self` and to escape from this domination of self a rule of life is helpful.
The aim of a rule of life is to help oneself to become submissive to God. It should include three basic needs: self-examination, repentence and the security of obedience.         To be continued by us, my wonderful brothers and sisters.
Peace and love to you my brothers and sisters. Know that you are loved and pass it on, with my blessings and peace. Peter.
